Sales of smart home products are expected to exceed $150 billion by the year 2020 – which is only three years from now! Consumers are encouraged to buy and install their own thermostats, door locks, security panels, etc; and even if they opt not to do it themselves, their awareness of products, benefits and price points is rapidly increasing. So too is the confusing array of products that don’t work together. Meanwhile the telcos, security and cable companies are all fighting for a piece of their pie, establishing business practices that compete with yours.
